Use Case

Attunda FRS & Evam:
A Partnership Built for Critical Moments.

Digital tools have evolved from simple support systems into Mission-Critical infrastructure for modern emergency services. In Fire and Rescue operations where conditions can change in seconds, reliable technology is essential to both crew safety and response speed.

Attunda Fire & Rescue Services

Serving six municipalities across the Greater North Stockholm area, Attunda Fire and Rescue Service operates in one of the region’s most dynamic and densely populated environments. Their mission covers everything from acute incidents to prevention as well as close cooperation with neighbouring fire services. In a service area of this scale, where the operational picture can shift in a matter of seconds, digital tools must match the demands of frontline work. That’s why the requirements for any new system are uncompromising, says IT Strategist Himzo Mihaljevic.

“When we bring in new digital tools, it’s crucial that the systems are reliable and robust. They also need to be easy for our users to understand and create real value in their daily work.”

But the requirements aren’t only about what the system can deliver today. It also needs to evolve with the organisation.

“Systems today have to be future-proof, with APIs that allow integration with the systems we use now and the ones we’ll use in the future.”

For Attunda, the goal was an in-vehicle solution that could handle the realities of their day-to-day work. Where decisions, movements and coordination across several units must happen seamlessly. Since mid-2024, Attunda has been using Evam’s MDT software, Vehicle Services, across their entire fleet. It’s a SaaS platform that supports the full emergency workflow. From mobilisation and navigation to case management and situational awareness.

“The system is smartly designed so that we receive the right information at the right time on the way to an incident.”

Implementing the new system required close collaboration between Attunda and Evam. To give every user a confident start, Evam developed a digital training package that walked through the key functions and how the workflows are used in real incidents. The training was delivered to all shifts, in parallel with the installation of the hardware in the vehicles.

“It’s rare to replace a system that affects so many users without encountering any friction. But Evam’s effort to support end-users through dialogue and training meant that the threshold for getting started was very low.”

Once the system was in place, the impact was immediate. The precise and responsive navigation allowed drivers to focus fully on the road and the mission, not on managing the tech. Himzo himself appreciates the Street View feature when he takes his shifts as a unit officer.

“Street View has made a big difference. You instantly get a sense of what you’re heading toward and can prepare for what awaits.”

Commanders also gained a more modern form of support during response. The system brings together units, positions, and statuses into a clear operational picture, making tactical planning easier when multiple crews are heading to the same incident. The partnership and day-to-day dialogue have also evolved.

“Firefighters reach out to Evam directly when they want to improve or suggest something. That’s a good sign. It shows they’re engaged and that the system has become a natural part of their work.”

The dialogue with Evam has been fast, concrete, and closely connected to day-to-day operations both before and after the rollout. Adjustments, refinements, and improvements have often been made shortly after new needs emerged.

“It’s clear that Evam listen and want to understand how we work. Lead times are short, and it’seasy to follow changes from proposal to implementation.”

For Attunda, this has meant that the system evolves with the organisation, not alongside it. As a result, the tool remains relevant, user-friendly, and aligned with a reality where every second counts.
